Two Days with Josh Barnett in Japan
Josh Barnett will face Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira in the PRIDE Open Weight Grand Prix 2006 Final Round event, to be held at Saitama Super Arena on September 10th. Josh is known for his deep knowledge of Japan and his Japanese has improved so much that he no longer needs interpreters for simple conversations. Josh arrived in Japan on the 25th, where Dream Stage Entertainment staff met him at Narita International Airport and followed him for the night.
 
Congrats! To Megumi and her AACC fighters

Megumi Fujii and her students -Tamada, Akano and Sayaka- competed in Smackgirl's: "Queen of Grappling" tounrnament on July 23rd, 2006. Megumi, while favored to win her weight class,amazingly needed only :50 seconds in total to capture the gold. Meeting Paraestra's Emi Tomimatsu in the finals, Megumi quickly snapped on her famous toe-hold and got the submission in just :20 seconds.

Pride Fighting Championships: Was it your plan to take the fight to the ground?

Josh Barnett: No, it wasn't. I wanted to trade (punches) with him like in the K-1 Grand Prix but Mark fell down by himself. I was fine with standing and trading with him. I train with strikers. I wanted to bring out my opponents strengths and give him a chance.

Since his lost to Mirko Filipovic last October, American Josh Barnett has been on a roll, with victories over Kazuhiro Nakamura and Aleksander Emelianenko (Pictures). This time around the catch wrestler had to face off against iron-chinned striker Mark Hunt.
