Revival! UWF Shindai nai!

I said that once after a match between me and Kakihara on a New Japan tour. Even though at the time the UWF itself was gone but those fans understood; something like the UWF is only dead when it is forgotten. The fans that night and, hopefully, the fans coming to the U-Style: AXIS show at Ariake Colosseum on 11/23/05 will remember fondly and keep UWF alive for another generation.

U-Style itself had been on a hiatus for over a year which to me and other fans seemed to a permanent change. I was surprised as anyone when I read that they where not only coming back but starting boldly with a big show. Even more surprising was seeing my name linked to it! To think, one of the UWF's biggest fans and believers as someone who can help bring it back. For this I will do my best.

U-Style: AXIS is a bold return and by far the largest venture U-Style has attempted. That said the boldest match we could have is for me to fight Kiyoshi Tamura, the figurehead of U-Style. I know that at this point it is only me throwing out a challenge but I have gut feeling that the “Obstinate Man of Red Pants” will take notice and meet me in the ring.

This challenge, this “dream match” is not something that just appeared overnight. Ever since the night I showed up to support TK when he fought Tamura in Korakuen hall, the fans and press where a-buzz with the vision of me and Tamura meeting face-to-face and showing who's UWF Spirit was stronger. When King of Colosseum II” Was released one of the promotional videos was of a U-Style match between me and Tamura played out by the game's engine.

So, in preparation for Tamura I have studied many of his matches in UWFI and RINGS. My conclusion is that for this match I will draw some strategy from another UWF legend: the late Gary Albright. His suplexes devastated the competition with the most quick wins in UWF and perhaps the most KO's. One of those who fell victim to the might of Gary was Tamura himself.

Tamura has been fighting many guys who can kick, suplex, or submit but not since Gary has Tamura faced a big, strong, wrestler with a powerful suplex. I don't think he'll be ready for this kind of fight nor do I think he will be able to prepare for it. Reese Andy (Former 2-time NCAA Div. 1 runner up) will help me develop even more power into my suplexes and polish up my technique. I will also study Gary 's matches for ideas on how to best use this style. If I have any trouble I know that I can always fight my fight.

Here's to you Tamura. Step up to the plate and show the fans what UWF is all about. I am preparing just for this and expect you to accept the challenge. I will bring my U-Spirit to the ring I hope you are there to meet me.

P.S. – No one should make any excuses for me and my loss against Mirko. Nothing should take away from his win and make it less credible. He won that day and that's all. If things go well then I can get another shot at him and then we might see a different ending.
